G.T.C. Kumba is one of the few Technical Colleges to have an Information Technology Centre (A computer and Internet Access Laboratory). This has come in at a time computers and Information Technology is touching the lives of billions of people all over the world. That is why the P.T.A. and the School management Board thought it better to introduce the students of this august Institution to this new technology. We are thankful to the school authority, P.T.A., ADCOME and MTN for their laudable efforts in making sure that this project becomes a reality. This project will bridge the gap between IT and education by ensuring that students have access to Internet, the fastest means of information exchange today.

ICT Training in CETIC Kumba
Trained teachers who alternate theoretical and practical classes weekly carry out training in IT and Computer studies. Students are taught the basics of the computer, the structure and its functioning. It is worth noting that some staff who are not computer literate also have the opportunity to study some basics of the computer. Students and Staff find these classes interesting. Given the unique role IT Centre plays in the teaching-learning process, the school administration will continue to call on its improvement. |

Some problems of the Lab
While the students and staffs continue to be enthralled by this new technology, problem of inadequate computers abound. With twenty-five computers to serve a student population of 1281 and 84 staff members who gain access to the computer laboratory poses a problem when it comes to practicing in the laboratory. Every year the P.T.A. will purchase ten computers for the lab in other to ameliorate the problem of inadequacy.
